We are live from the opening event of the fifth Intel Extreme Masters season, the Global Challenge in Shanghai.

Held at the ChinaJoy exhibition in Shanghai, the Global Challenge is live and the fifth season of the Intel Extreme Masters has officially kicked off. The first day of the tournament, which is Thursday, features Group A in action. IEM4 champions from Natus Vincere are battling against TyLoo and WeMade FOX, in the race to reach the top two spots of the group, which will grant access to the playoffs.

The venue, which is yet another exhibition hall, is extremely loud. During their first match, Natus Vincere had a lot of trouble hearing each other. The Ukrainians are using noise-cancelling headsets and still struggle against the high level of noise at the event, it could very well turn out to be crucial for teams without noise-cancelling headsets.
